blnd

Software for independent appraisers who work every portal

You inspect for several IA firms, and each one sends work through its own portal. blnd signs in to all of them as you, pulls every assignment into one inbox, answers the one-time codes, and drafts an estimate file you can import into CCC ONE. You review it, approve it, and it goes back to the claim.

No card. Every supported portal on every plan.

Same assignments. A different day.

Working for several IA firms means working in several portals, each with its own login, queue and upload screen. Here is where the hours go, and what blnd takes off your plate.

  1. 6:40 a.m.

Without blnd: Open a tab for every firm's portal and sign in to each one to see what was dispatched overnight.

With blnd: Overnight assignments are already in one inbox, each labelled with the portal it came from.

  2. 7:05 a.m.

Without blnd: A portal logs you out and emails a six-digit code. You dig for it while the coffee goes cold.

With blnd: blnd reads the code from the Gmail inbox you connected and finishes the sign-in on its own.

  3. 8:30 a.m.

Without blnd: Retype claim numbers, VINs and inspection addresses into your tracker before you drive.

With blnd: Assignment sheet, insured, VIN, loss description, address and photos are pulled in already.

  4. Midday

Without blnd: Between inspections, download photos from each portal so you can write them up later.

With blnd: blnd drafts the lines from the photos and notes: replace, repair, refinish, blend, R&I.

  5. Evening

Without blnd: Write the day's estimates from a blank screen, one line at a time.

With blnd: Import each drafted file into CCC ONE, check every line, change what you see differently, lock it.

  6. 11:30 p.m.

Without blnd: Log back in to every portal and re-upload each estimate and its photos to the right claim.

With blnd: Approve, and each estimate goes back to the claim it came from. Then close the laptop.

The inspection, the judgment call and the signature on the estimate stay yours.

What lands on your desk for every assignment

blnd works alongside the estimating system you already use. It does the drafting and the shuttling between portals; you open the file, make it yours, and send it.

A drafted estimate, as a file you can import into CCC ONE

From the photos and the assignment notes, blnd writes the line items and packages them as an .xme and .AWF file for import, plus a PDF for the claim file. You finish it in CCC ONE the way you always have.

What is in a CCC estimate file

A blnd button inside each portal

Some days you will still be in a portal: a desk reviewer has a question, or you want to see the file as the firm sees it. The Chrome extension puts a blnd button on each case row, so you can check the draft and upload it to that claim without leaving the page.

About the Chrome extension

The busywork is blnd's. The judgment stays yours.

Your portal accounts carry your licence and your relationships with the firms that send you work. blnd signs in as you, with your own credentials, and the worst it can do on its own is read.

Always your call

  • Which assignments you take and when you inspect
  • Every line on the estimate, and every change to it
  • Whether an estimate is uploaded, case by case
  • Which portals and inboxes are connected
How blnd handles your logins
  • Read-only by default

blnd reads assignments, notes and photos. It does not accept, decline or reassign work, or message anyone for you.

  • You approve every upload

The one thing it writes to a portal is your estimate, after you press approve. Each approval is logged.

  • Gmail, for sign-in codes only

It looks for portal one-time codes and nothing else. Disconnect it any time.

  • Logins encrypted at rest

Portal passwords are encrypted before they are stored, and decrypted only inside the job that signs in.

  • Disconnect whenever you like

Removing a portal deletes its stored credentials straight away.

Connects to your account on the portals you already work in

Sign in to each one once, inside blnd. If a firm you work for uses a portal that is not on the list, tell us which one: we add portals in the order appraisers ask.

One plan made for a one-person shop

You pay per estimate file, not per seat. Assignments you never ask blnd to estimate cost nothing, and redrafting the same case is free. Start with 10 files, no card.

$5.00 per extra file, up to a monthly spend cap you set

  • 40 estimate files a month
  • Every supported portal
  • Gmail code reading
  • Chrome extension

Annual billing gets 2 months free.

Questions independent appraisers ask

Something else? Write to hello@blnd.one.

Is blnd made for a one-person appraisal business?
Yes. The Solo plan is built for one independent appraiser: 40 estimate files a month for $199, every supported portal, Gmail code reading and the Chrome extension. If you later bring on staff appraisers, you can move to Pro or Firm in the same workspace.
I take assignments from several IA firms. Do they really end up in one place?
Yes. You connect your own account on each portal those firms dispatch through, and blnd pulls new assignments from all of them into one inbox. Each one is labelled with the portal it came from, so you always know whose file you are working.
Do I still need CCC ONE?
Yes. blnd works alongside it, it does not replace it. blnd drafts the estimate as an .xme and .AWF file you can import into CCC ONE, plus a PDF. You open the file there, check it, adjust anything you see differently, and lock it as you normally would.
What about portals that email me a one-time code to sign in?
Connect the Gmail inbox those codes arrive in. When a portal asks for a code, blnd reads it from that inbox and finishes the sign-in. It looks for sign-in codes only, and you can disconnect Gmail at any time.
Can blnd send anything to a firm or carrier without me?
No. blnd is read-only by default. It does not accept or decline assignments or message anyone. An estimate is uploaded only after you approve it, in the web app or from the blnd button inside the portal.
What happens in a month when I write more than 40 estimates?
Each extra file on Solo is billed at $5.00 on the same monthly invoice, so you never have to upgrade mid-month to keep working. Set a spend cap in billing settings and blnd will never bill past it.
One of the firms I work for uses a portal you do not support. Can I still use blnd?
Yes, for the portals that are supported. Tell us which portal is missing; we add new portals in the order appraisers ask for them.

Spend tomorrow night on something other than estimates

Connect the portals you work in and let real assignments come in. Your first 10 files are free, and you do not need a card to start.
